Girls on the Run at Louise Archer - Regular registration is from January 29-February 26
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls in the upper grades in elementary school (grades 3-6). The program combines training for a 5K race with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development of young girls. The program uses an innovative and fun curriculum designed exclusively for pre-teen girls to address specific life skills through the use of games, warm-ups, and workouts.
Girls on the Run at Louise Archer will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:15 pm-5:15 pm. Practice begins on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 and the season will conclude with the Girls on the Run 5K race on the weekend of May 19-20, 2018. Location for the 5K is TBD.
Girls on the Run at Louise Archer is coached by teachers Kate Kraft, Sue Rutherford, Katie Savage, and Kelly Jo Stroud.
Registration will be on a first come, first served basis, as we can accommodate 20 girls on a team. If there are more than 20 students registered, the team will be selected by a random lottery process through the Girls on the Run program. If there is a larger interest and registration, a second team could potentially be added, but would likely practice at the same times, in tandem with the first team.
The standard fee for the GOTR program is $175*, and includes the following items:
• Participation in a 10-week, 20-lesson program conducted by certified GOTR coaches
• Materials used by the coaches over the course of the program, including the curriculum
• Entry into the end-of-season 5K running event
• Race bib and timing chip
• GOTR t-shirt
• 5K finisher's medal
• Comprehensive insurance
*There is a discounted registration available for applicants who qualify.
The late registration period is February 28-March 9, when registration fees will increase.
