The Louise Archer PTA invites Jennifer Sullivan from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to our in-person October PTA meeting, where she will discuss ways parents can support their school-aged children beyond blocking websites and setting parental controls.
Ms. Sullivan will provide valuable insights on fostering open communication, building trust, and educating children about online safety in an age-appropriate manner. She will emphasize the importance of creating a family technology plan that includes guidelines for internet use, social media interactions, and the sharing of personal information. Additionally, Ms. Sullivan will offer resources and tools that parents can use to stay informed about the latest digital trends and potential online threats.
The meeting will also feature a Q&A session, allowing parents to ask specific questions and share their concerns. This will be an excellent opportunity for the community to come together, learn, and support each other in creating a safer online environment for our children. We encourage all parents to attend and benefit from Jennifer’s expertise and practical advice.
We warmly encourage you to invite your family, friends, parents, and anyone else who might benefit from this special speaker series sponsored by the LAES PTA. An Evite will be sent out in the next week or two, allowing you to RSVP for this special PTA General Meeting.
