Building on a successful program last year, the Reflections Arts Contest is back at Louise Archer!
All Louise Archer students (K – 6) are encouraged to participate in the Reflections Arts Contest, a National PTA Program. Students can submit original works in six different categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
This year’s theme, “What my culture means to me,” invites students to reflect on what makes their culture meaningful to them and how it shapes who they are. Volunteering with the Louise Archer PTA is one of the most meaningful ways to become part of our school community — especially if your family is new to LAES due to a move, starting as a Kindergartner, or joining us through the Advanced Academics Program (AAP). Many families tell us that volunteering was the moment they truly felt connected: meeting other parents, getting to know teachers and staff, and feeling like they were part of something bigger.
Our PTA is powered entirely by parent volunteers, and right now we have several roles where your help would make a tremendous impact. Some positions keep major programs running smoothly; others are lighter commitments that still make a big difference. Every role comes with templates, notes, past examples, and support from PTA leadership — you will not be doing this alone.

Do you want to do an experiment or research a STEAM topic and share the results with your classmates? Sign up to display a project at the Louise Archer STEAM extravaganza.
What is the STEAM extravaganza?
This event is a PTA sponsored extracurricular activity to celebrate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). The event is similar to a traditional science fair but projects aren’t limited to experiments and can be about any STEAM topic.
No project? No problem, all are welcome! Even if you don’t create a project, you are still welcome to attend to check out the displays and do other activities including:

We are excited to announce that we are again partnering with Original Works art-based fundraising! Through the program, students created artwork that you can have reproduced onto a variety of keepsake products. The products range from magnets to mugs and start at under $8. A portion of proceeds from the program will be used for PTA programs.
Complete details on the program including a custom order form with your child’s unique Access Code will be sent home this week. To search for your child’s artwork and order online, please input your child’s “Access Code” or select “Search Artwork” on the website at https://store.originalworks.com/gallery/.

The LAES PTA will be hosting one week of Chess Camp and three weeks of Sports Camp this summer!
Chess Camp, offered by Atlantic Chess Association, will take place 6/22 to 6/26 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in our cafeteria. Students will be organized into groups based on skill level to receive tailored instruction.
Sports Camp will be run by our very own Coach Worsham alongside Sports & Games for Kids, LLC staff from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in our gym during the following weeks.
Session 1: 6/22-6/26
Session 2: 7/27-7/31
Session 3: 8/3-8/7
Registration is now open for all weeks on Homeroom and will stay open until the start of each session.
