Did you know you can support the LAES PTA by doing what you already do – shopping? We’re part of two excellent programs that donate to us when you shop.

First is Harris Teeter: Together in Education. Harris Teeter donates a portion of purchase made with a linked VIC card. Signing up is as easy as:

1. Visit the Together in Education website
2. Enter the email address associated with your VIC card
3. Enter the one-time password sent to your email
4. Search for Louise Archer Elementary PTA or 6189 and click “add” to link your VIC card

Even if you’ve signed up in the past, you need to sign up again for this school year.

The second way to support us is with Givebacks. Super easy to sign up, super easy to use:

1. Create your Givebacks account
2. Select your cause – Louise Archer Elementary School PTA
3. Link your credit card to your account
4. Shop & dine at participating vendors

The September 2023 PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25th at 8pm via Zoom.

The Zoom meeting link will be automatically emailed to all PTA members (as of midnight the day of the meeting). Thank you to everyone who’s joined the PTA so far!

If you have not signed up for the PTA this year but still wish to attend, please RSVP.

The submission portal is now open for the Reflections Arts Contest, a National PTA Program we participate in at Louise Archer. Students can submit works in literature, music composition, dance choreography, photography, visual arts, and film production. All Louise Archer students are encouraged to participate!

A special shout out to all the families, room parents, teachers, and staff who contributed photos last year and to our wonderful students who submitted cover artwork! It’s because of all of you that we can make such a memorable book. For those who missed out, there are still a couple copies left for purchase at the front office. $20 for softcover – cash or checks payable to “Louise Archer PTA.”

The 2023 theme, I am hopeful because…, calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. This year, we are following the format that was used the last few years with digital submissions and online entry forms. The deadline for entries will be Thurs., Oct. 12th.

Guidelines for each category can be found on our website. Please note that the physical guidelines no longer apply, as all projects must be digitally submitted, so Visual Arts entries must be photographed for entry. The online student submission forms will be available soon. For inspiration, visit the Reflections virtual art gallery and learn more about prizes and scholarships. We will celebrate all Louise Archer entries and participants in a special reception in November.
