Principal and Assistant Principal Appreciation Week

In honor of Principal and Assistant Principal Appreciation Week, the PTA and the Sunshine Committee have created a padlet. We want every student to leave a message for Mrs. Makrigiorgos and Mrs. Condra letting them know how much we appreciate them. Its going to be one big virtual hug!

  • Students will need to sign into Padlet with their FCPS Google accounts (@fcpsschools.net).
  • Please note that due to possible digital citizenship issues, every post will be reviewed before it becomes active in the Padlet. This means students may not see their posts appear immediately after recording a message, writing a note, drawing a picture etc. for Ms. Condra and Ms. Makrigiorgos.

Sunshine Times

The Sunshine Times is a student newspaper intended to be a creative outlet for budding writers, photographers, and artists. All students K-6th grade are encouraged to participate!

TOP 5 REASONS TO WRITE FOR THE SUNSHINE TIMES

  1. See your name in print!
  2. Get a hard copy of the newspaper to bring home!
  3. Write (or draw!) about anything!
  4. Share something new and exciting!
  5. Improve your writing skills while having fun!

Students can write about school/class activities, vacations, local events, sports coverage, travel/book/movie/music/art reviews, interviews, puzzles, Spanish-language columns, poetry, cartoons, advice columns–all ideas are welcome!

Submissions for the first paper are due on January 22. Kids should have their parents send a short story, poem, artwork, recipes, reviews, etc. (one item per child) to sunshinetimes@louisearcherpta.org.

Parents should indicate that they approve of the submission and include the name of their child’s teacher and grade.

Yearbook 2020-21 Needs Help!

Calling all families and staff of the LAES community, the yearbook needs your help!

We need candids of students participating in class, online or in-person, kids working out in front of their computers for P.E., playing instruments for band or strings, displaying artwork to their peers in art class, PBLs, virtual parties, spirit days…anything school related. Email your photos to yearbook@louisearcherpta.org and be sure to include the student’s name and grade.

Help us create a historical document of this unprecedented year that our students can proudly look back on.

To ensure every student at Louise Archer is represented in the yearbook, please help spread the word by sharing this message with everyone you know in the LAES community.

Photos of LAES students and/or staff only please.
