Hello Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade Families!

We are excited to share that we are bringing Girls on the Run back to Louise Archer! This is an amazing program that gets girls out on the run while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills! 

The Spring season will kick off on Tuesday, March 4, and will culminate with a celebration 5K run on Sunday, May 18. Practices are held twice a week at Louise Archer, and we’re excited to get the team off to a strong start! Please see the attached flyer for more information on the program; here are the basics:

Practices:
Tuesday before school @ 7:45AM – 8:55AM
Thursday after school @ 4:05PM – 5:15PM

Held outside at Louise Archer (with backup indoor practice)

Season: Tuesday March 4 – Sunday, May 18

It’s almost time for the 2025 Louise Archer PTA Read-A-Thon! (#2025LAESReadathon)

The Louise Archer Elementary School Read-A-Thon begins on Monday March 3, 2025 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.

About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader’s personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We encourage everyone to activate their student’s Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.

As an incentive, we’ve partnered with Ben & Jerry’s (Vienna, VA) who’s offering all students who register and log minutes a coupon for a complimentary scoop of ice cream. No purchase required.

All donations will be collected through your personalized student webpage on Read-a-thon.com. This platform makes it easy for friends and family to support your reading efforts

The Book Fair Is Coming!

We’re excited to welcome you back to our in-person book fair, now hosted in our beautiful new library!

What: In-person Bookworm Central Book Fair. Proceeds support the LAES library!

When: March 3-7 (school-day browsing and shopping for students) with special evening hours March 6 during Family Reading Night (6-8pm)

We’re looking for volunteers to help with everything from setting up to running the register to helping kids choose the perfect book. Whether you can spare an hour or a whole day, your time will make a huge difference!

No experience required—just a love for books and a desire to help.
